Plan to succeed in lunch packing with a lunch packing plan and some simple strategies that will help you break your day with a delicious bite to eat and a few moments of tranquility.

strategy 1

Make a plan: take a few minutes each week to map out lunches for the days ahead. Add the items you need to your shopping list and stock your fridge, freezer and pantry with the ingredients you need for the week.

strategy 2

Get ahead: get a jump on meal preparation during the week by devoting an hour or two to making sauces and vinaigrettes, roasting veggies or cooking proteins, washing and chopping veggies and/or baking and freezing some sweet treats that you will be enjoying during the week.

Strategy 3

Cook once, eat twice: add a bit more rice or quinoa to the pot or toss an extra chicken thigh on the barbeque when making your dinner and pack it for lunch the next day. Better yet, pack your lunch before cleaning up from dinner and enjoy an extra cup of coffee the next morning!

strategy 4

Think beyond the sandwich: granola, yogurt and fruit for lunch? cheese and charcuterie? a muffin, fruit and yogurt? Why not?! Take a break from the monotony of sandwiches and carrot sticks every day and get inspired by Lunchbox.
